She is a 9th Degree Black Belt in Shaolin Kenpo Karate, a certified instructor in Muay Thai and in Jeet Kune Do Concepts.

Today, women training and competing in the martial arts is not that uncommon, however, 40 years ago is was not the norm.
June is also 1 of 7 children and growing up as a real Karate Kid made for a very unique childhood. The responsibilities of her parents owning and operating a martial arts school left little time for extra curricular activities or social events.
